The Higher Education Commision of Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is the apex regulatory body of higher education in Pakistan.  HEC is responsible for formulating higher education policy and quality assurance to meet the international standards as well as providing accrediting academic degrees, development of new institutions, and uplift of existing institutions in Pakistan. HEC follows rigorous criteria for categorizing local journals. B&ER is recognized in “X” category by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan (effective July-2018).

EconLit includes the most sought-after economics publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, working papers from leading universities, Ph.D. dissertations, books, collective volume articles, conference proceedings, and book reviews--all expertly indexed, classified, and linkable to full-text library holdings. Gale: Cengage Learning has millions of articles from over 17,000 scholarly journals and other authoritative sources—including thousands of podcasts and transcripts from NPR and CNN as well as videos from BBC Worldwide Learning.  B&ER coverage in Gale is from April 2014 - present. CABELLS Scholarly Analytics

 CABELLS Scholarly Analytics publishes white- and black-lists of academic journals. The white-list has over 11,000 academic journals spanning 18 disciplines. B&ER found its place in the white-list of Cabells in 2017.

 

  

 Crossref is an official Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Registration Agency of the International DOI Foundation. It is run by the Publishers International Linking Association Inc. (PILA) and was launched in early 2000 as a cooperative effort among publishers to enable persistent cross-publisher citation linking in online academic journals.  B&ER's coverage in Crossref is from the year 2013 - present. 

 

  

ProQuest databases provide a single source for scholarly journals, newspapers, reports, working papers, and datasets along with millions of pages of digitized historical primary sources. B&ER's application for inclusion in ProQuest Database was approved  on March 23, 2018. 

 

Ulrich's Periodicals Directory is the standard library directory and database providing information about popular and academic magazines, scientific journals, newspapers and other serial publications.  B&ER's coverage in ULRICH is from the year 2009- present. 

 

IDEAS is the largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics and available freely on the Internet. Based on RePEc, it indexes over 2,500,000 items of research, including over 2,300,000 that can be downloaded in full text. [See full-text volumes of  B&ER at IDEAS/RePEc]

 

B&ER is included in the catalog of the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics (http://www.zbw.eu/), which is a part of EconBiz, a subject portal for economics and business studies.
